2021 PANTONE COLORS OF THE YEAR

We have "patiently" been waiting, checking our computers daily waiting for the announcement of the 2021 Pantone Color of the Year. And lucky us, it's not just one but two colors: Illuminating and Ultimate Gray. These colors convey the message of stability, strength, hopefulness and happiness that we hope to find in the new year.

"As people look for ways to fortify themselves with energy, clarity, and hope to overcome the continuing uncertainty, spirited and emboldening shades satisfy our quest for vitality. PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating is a bright and cheerful yellow sparkling with vivacity, a warming yellow shade imbued with solar power. PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray is emblematic of solid and dependable elements which are everlasting and provide a firm foundation. The colors of pebbles on the beach and natural elements whose weathered appearance highlights an ability to stand the test of time, Ultimate Gray quietly assures, encouraging feelings of composure, steadiness and resilience."

While gray and yellow isn't necessarily our favorite color combo, we were inspired by the announcement so we designed a table using the 2021 Colors of the Year. We opted to use our smoke polyester for the tablecloth and lemon polyester for the napkins. These are our two closest options to the Pantone colors. We didn't want to add any other colors into the mix so we stuck with accents of white and silver. The table was set using our silver wire chargers, Lilly dishes, quantum flatware and glassware. The simple arrangement of peonies, billy balls, greenery and lemons helped break up the shades of gray and added another element of yellow. It's a cheery little table perfect for a spring or summer event.

One of the best, and easiest ways to incorporate color into your event is with table linens. Below are a few of our yellow and gray options:

What are your thoughts on the 2021 Pantone Colors of the Year? We're curious to see if yellow and gray start popping up at different events next year.

After a year like 2020 and all of the uncertainty and heartbreak that came with it, we are excited and optimistic to see what 2021 holds. And that's what these colors represent: brighter, happier days and dependability. We have hope for a better year.
