We are excited to introduce a new series to our blog! Often times, the season your event takes place in influences your color palette. For example, we see lots of light, pastel colors in the spring and dark, earthy colors in the fall. And in the world of tablecloths, we see that the seasons also influence fabric choice. Woven fabrics like belize and rattan are popular in the summer while heavy fabrics like velvet and matte satin are used in the winter. This post is not meant to limit your choices based on the season... in fact, it's actually meant to help broaden your options.
We look forward to showing you designs on how one linen can be styled to work different times of the year. Sadly, our inspiration came from so many people having to postpone or reschedule their weddings and events due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. We were curious, would some choose to keep the same palette and adapt to the season or change their colors and design entirely? What did you do?
To start off the series, we wanted to use our Sunshine Velvet tablecloth. Two things in that title may seem a bit conflicting. First, with a name like Sunshine, this bright yellow linen may seem more appropriate for warm weather events. We are going to show you it is perfect for any season with the right added elements. Secondly, velvet with its thick rich texture traditionally has been used in the winter colder months. We are here to tell you velvet is amazing (obviously), and you can use it year-round!
SPRING
For spring, our design has a soft feminine look. The Blush Matte Satin napkin may seem like an unlikely choice. And to the naked eye, the colors may even seem like they clash. Once we added all the details it came together like the perfect spring day. The floral arrangement featuring various colors like pink, coral, yellow, and white remind us of fresh growth and new beginnings that only the spring can bring. Even the chair, our Clover Fruitwood, features a raw wood that could easily blend into a spring setting.
SUMMER
Our summer design was the hardest for us to come up with, but quite possibly, our favorite look. The Moss Iridescent Crush napkins add a lovely amount of texture to the table, even reflecting the golden tone of the velvet tablecloth. What could be more summer than cacti and succulents?! We scattered them down the middle for a fun and festive look. The tones found in the terra cotta pots, leather place cards and Mahogany Chiavari chair add warmth and earthy vibes to this design.
FALL
The Sunshine Velvet tablecloth paired with Olive Poly napkins sets the tone for our fall inspired table. The pumpkins in various shades atop the fall foliage garland really ties all these colors together. Honestly, this shade of yellow reminds us so much of the yellow leaves we see in autumn. It is as if this Sunshine Velvet tablecloth was made just for the fall. The Elio chair adds a raw element to the design that really completes the look, making the table versatile enough to be used in an indoor or outdoor setting
WINTER
Our palate for our winter design reminds us of shades from a great plaid. The Burgundy Majestic napkins give the table that great warm feeling you crave during the cold months. A quick garland down the middle and we can barely imagine this working for any other season. The black accents in the Chiavari chairs and candle sticks really balance the whole look and tie everything together.
