How often do we have to choose between multiple color schemes when designing an event? That was rhetorical, because we do this all the time. For this shoot, we wanted to do two different tables that focused on one color each. We decided to go with two classic and timeless colors: navy and black.
For the both tables, we chose to set up on the farm table. We wanted to show that a table that is typical used for more natural and rustic events can also provide a classy and traditional theme. For the navy table, we paired this table with the clover fruitwood chairs. The runner is marine velvet and the napkin was navy supernova. We used the duchess dinner and salad plate along with the gold glass charger. We added additional gold accents with capri gold flatware and the laser cut gold wooden names that topped the plate. The laser cut names, along with the water carafe table number were created by Christy of The Ink Cafe. For glassware we used the bourdeaux wine glass and the water goblet. The decor used was a combination of glass cylinders filled with dusty miller and votive candles. We’ve heard that navy is the new black, and we must admit, we can’t get enough!
For the black table, we added the black chiavari chairs, a black matte satin runner and black majestic napkins. The glassware was kept the same here, but changed the flatware to the quantum. The sleekness of the quantum silverware pairs perfectly with the 5-light silver candelabra. For dishware, we utilized our black plastic charger, regina dinner plate, and the marble accent plate. To finish the table, we added some simple eucalyptus leaves on the runner and menus from The Ink Cafe. This elegant decor and the chic black linens bring a timeless feel to our farm table.
We loved choosing just one color to design each table around. Monochromatic color schemes are always a favorite and can help make any event feel cohesive. While navy and black aren’t the most exciting colors, these dark neutrals provided a timeless sophistication.
