It's officially spring and we're in the middle of a pandemic. We're not going to make light of the situation at hand and say we haven't been affected because everybody has. Our small business is based on providing rentals for large gatherings of people; and while that is not safe at the moment, we are ready to help with any future events.
We are working hard in this time to prepare for when life goes back to normal. New inventory has arrived and we have been feeling inspired. So we thought, what better way to brighten your day than with a beautiful, colorful tablescape?
Let's start with the inspiration:
We have noticed poppies "popping" up on our Pinterest feed a lot lately and they have quickly become a favorite flower of ours. They are bright and whimsical addition to any arrangement with their yellow centers and tissue-like petals. Incorporating fruit in these arrangements and on tables has also become more popular, as has the addition of bold colors. But instead of the moody jewel tones that we've being seeing the past year, we're talking about shades of blue, peach, pink and yellow. This palette leaves us dreaming of warmer weather and happier days.
For this table we wanted to show off a few of our new items, including our Lilly plates and wood melamine serving trays. The cool part about the new tray is that they look like wooden charcuterie boards but are actually melamine which makes them easy to clean and super light. We have added 2 sizes to our inventory: 14x10" and 18x10". We used the smaller tray in place of a charger on this table for a laid-back look. Traditional settings are always in style but we thought it would be fun to mix it up a bit! Though we don't have nearly enough trays to do an entire reception, this would be a fun idea for a head table or dinner party!
On top of the wood tray, we placed our Capri copper flatware and the new Lilly plates. They are a smooth, all-white replacement for our popular Regina dishes. These timeless plates are available in 3 sizes: bread & butter, salad and dinner and we have enough to serve 300.
A white panama napkin was placed under each dinner plate and a menu was placed on top. For the tablecloth we used lagoon matte satin. This luxurious blue-green linen popped against the warmer color palette used in the rest of the tablescape. We weren't able to get fresh flowers for this table but Hobby Lobby has some stunning fake poppies. Lemon branches and a peach were the finishing touches to this bright arrangement. Our silver candlesticks were placed to each side of the flowers to fill the table out a bit.
We love how this simple, yet colorful table turned out!
