SOUTHWEST

Updated: Dec 27, 2018

We love a themed party here at A-1. While chatting about different party ideas, a Southwest theme came up. We decided to style a Southwest table, and realized that we had different ideas of what a Southwest theme looked like! Instead of choosing one, the team decided to turn this shoot into a comparison of two different tables. We realized the importance of wording when describing a theme to accurately get a vision across.

The first table we designed was a bold fiesta table. We love the bright colors and bold accents in fiesta parties and wanted to accentuate the pops of color in this table. We started with our beloved 8 foot farmhouse table and paired it with the Elizabeth chairs. For dishware, the team chose the gold glass chargers, duchess dinner and salad plates. The capri gold flatware, 10-ounce jupiter glasses and red wine glasses looked lovely in addition to the plates and charger. We lined the table with a serape runner printed on a panama fabric. We love this colorful piece and think it makes an incredible addition to the theme! The napkins are navy polyester and tie in the navy from the runner. We styled the runner with cylinder vases that held pillar candles, and also added clear votive candles and and several small milk glass bud vases filled with carnations. Brett brought in her favorite ginger jar, which added the perfect contrast (and also has us all shopping for ginger jars). The final touches to this table were lemons, limes, oranges, and small potted succulents. We absolutely adore the fiesta themed table!

The second table we styled was a neutral table with a desert theme. We designed this table with soft, earthy tones in mind and we knew that we wanted to incorporate our rose gold chargers. For this shoot, we kept the farm table, Elizabeth chairs, and cylinder vases but added sand to complete the southwestern desert theme. We added the 22 inch cylinder vase as well, and filled it with sand and succulents. Christy from The Ink Cafe let us borrow these rock placecards and gorgeous glass menus at the center of the table. The plates used were the regina dinner plate and the marble salad plate. We also kept the jupiter glasses, but switched to the 13 inch. The ivory lace runner lines the farm table and the texture pairs perfectly with the extreme crush napkin in mint. The menus were made by Brett and the elegant calligraphy is swoon worthy. We adored this look so much, we kept it in our showroom!

We love that were able to take the idea of the Southwest and portray it in two different tables. Stay tuned for an upcoming blog about the importance of wording when describing themes and visions!
